I can't believe I ate the whole thing.  Our dinner last night at the fabulous Dumbleton Hall was... well fabulous.  We were late arriving, as such the kitchen had finished the main dinner service.  "Not a problem" the woman at the front desk informed us.  We have been expecting you.  The service matched the dining experience.  Breakfast was perfect too.  Today we are heading to Worcester and Great Malvern.  The former city is well known as the home of Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce.  The sauce is made by fermenting tamarind and anchovies in wood casks for as much as 10 years.  The smell in the fermentation room is enough to knock you over.  Thankfully the finished product is more refined. The city itself doesn't have the same architectural beauty but it does have history on its side.  It was the site of the last battle of the civil war where Cromwell defeated King Charles II.  The story goes that Charlie climbed an Oak Tree to hide from Cromwell's men.  The most important thing in the city is the Cathedral..... big surprise!  Some random shots of the streets in Worcester below.  We went there for one purpose, to get mobile.  We intended on purchasing a Mobile Wifi device to allow us to connect to the Internet anywhere.  The plan was to enable us to use Google Maps to avoid getting lost.  After a little research with some helpful staff, we decided on a phone.  All the same performance of the wifi device with the added benefit of a phone.  Additionally, it comes with sim card that we can replace for other countries.  Much better.  Only thing though is, it came at a much higher cost than expected......we got a parking ticket while in the store....$70.00.......yak!

The Great Malvern is designated as an area of Outstanding Beauty.  We are there for the cars.  One in particular, the Morgan.  This is the home of the 100 plus year old Morgan Motorcar company, 1909 to be precise.  We are getting a guided tour of the facilities by their very own historian/museum curator.  The 2 hour tour takes us through the shop floor to the detail shop.  We got to observe first hand the craftsmen working on these hand built beauties.

At the end of the tour we were invited to take one for a day to cruise through the English countryside.  Only 150 pounds or roughly 300 of our Canadian dollars.  We passed, we had Cream tea back at the castle and another somptuous dinner.  No time for frolicking in a 3 wheeler.  Still it was an inspiring visit to a unique and high quality car maker.

Tomorrow we will be heading south through Painswick, towards Bath and a stop at Cheddar on the way.  Yes the town is where the cheese style was invented.

Be well

Cheerio
